2024 Toronto Closed Chess Championship

Dates: Begins on April 18th, continues on Thursdays (April 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6, 13, and June 20 for makeup games)

Location: Excelsior Chess Club, 91 Skyway Ave, Suite 206, Toronto, ON

Entry Fee: $100 (Free for GM/WGM and IM/WIM; discounts for club members and families)

Why Join? Exclusive to GTA residents, this tournament spans several weeks and offers players the chance to compete in a tightly-knit, challenging environment.

Details: Games start at 7 PM; Check-in from 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM.


April 20 Juniors CYCC Qualifier

Date: April 20, 2024

Location: Excelsior Chess Club

Entry Fee: $35 (Discounts for club members and families)

Details: Event starts at 10 AM; Check-in from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM.


April-May Evening Chess Series

Dates: Starts April 23, 2024, and continues on Tuesdays (April 30, May 7, 14, 21)

Location: Excelsior Chess Club

Entry Fee: $20 per evening (Discounts for club members and families)

Why Join? Ideal for players looking to improve their ratings in a relaxed, yet structured series of games.

April Open Tournament

Dates: April 26-28, 2024

Location: Excelsior Chess Club
