FIDE WORLD YOUTH U-16 CHESS OLYMPIAD
Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan) / 1 October – 11 October 2022

The İnternational Chess Federation (FIDE), Azerbaijan Chess Federation and Chess Federation of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic have a pleasure to invite all National chess federations to participate in the FIDE World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad 2022 which will be held in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan on October 1-11, 2022.

Venue : The tournament will be held at Nakhchivan Chess Center.


Eligibility:
2.1 All the players who shall not have reached the age of 16 by January 1st 2022 (born 2006 or later) are entitled to participate.
2.2 Each team shall comprise 4 players and a maximum of 2 reserves. The team will have 1 captain. At least one girl must be included in the team composition for each round.
2.3 Each FIDE member federations have the right to send one official team.
2.4 Each FIDE member federations have the right to send additional teams and shall be responsible for all the costs of their additional teams and accompanying persons.


Tournament Details and Time Control:

• The tournament shall be run on a 9 round Swiss system. Each match between teams will be conducted over 4 boards.
• The time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
• Electronic Devices, Wrist Watches & Pens: Mobile phones, electronic devices, wrist watches (all type of wrist watches) and personal pens are prohibited inside the tournament hall.

Hotel : Tabriz Hotel
For Security and organizational reasons all national delegations are obliged to use the official hotel designated by the Organizing Committee.


Registration - Deadline is Aug 10
CFC is accepting entries for eligible players until Aug 10, 2022. No registrations will be accepted after Aug 10, 2022.

Official Team Selection: The highest CFC/FQE rating on the deadline date
Official Representatives will receive a travel sponsorship of up to $1000 from CFC, Team entry fees is covered by CFC, and hotel and meals are covered by the host organizer,
Additional teams and accompanying persons shall be responsible for all their costs.
