Our mission is to encourage and promote chess across Canada

Starting July 21, 2022 every Thursday at 7:00pm est
Duration: 10 Weeks
Time control: 15 minutes + 10 seconds
Number of games per evening: 4
Individual cost: $100.00 CAD (only $10 per evening!)

If signing up individually, you will be placed on an available club team.

CFC Rated Quick Rating: Players must have a CFC Membership or pay a CFC tournament fee. International players located outside of Canada may still join the CFC and our League.

Location: Online Lichess.org
Prizes:70% of registration fee.
Guaranteed $1500.00 CAD in cash prizes for first place winners.

Eligibility: To be eligible for cash prizes, players must join the group zoom call and their video must be turned on during gameplay.

Which ages can participate?

All ages are welcome.

Are there different sections for different ratings?

Yes. There are two sections. U1800 and 1800 +

Each team has four players, which constitute four boards.
Board 1 and Board 2 constitute section A

Board 3 and 4 constitute section B

Board 1 and Board 2 play an opposing team's Board 1 and 2 as white and as black.

Board 3 and Board 4 play an opposing team's
Board 3 and Board 4 as white and as black.

*Average team ratings for board 1 and 2 may not exceed 2400 elo (Lichess Rapid Rating)
Average team ratings for board 3 and 4 may not exceed 1800 (Lichess Rapid Rating)*


How does pairings work?

Each team is comprised of 4 boards.

How does team scoring work?

A team's score is determined by the sum number of wins, losses, and draws of each individual.

What is the team prize?

70% of Revenue will be returned to teams as a prize fund. Minimum $1500.00 guaranteed for Team Winners.

How are prizes distributed?

Cash prizes will be distributed equally amongst team members.

Our aim is to attract strong and talented chess players across the major cities in Canada.

A club manager represents all the teams in its' club and is responsible for the promotion of the event. We can provide you with a marketing package for email promotion and connect you with other club managers.
