Still, a lot of uncertainty nowadays, from COVID to Russian aggression. However, if everything goes smoothly, there is a lot on stake to this event. For Canadian Closed (a very similar situation for Canadian Women):

1. Winner = spot for the next Olympiad.

2. 2nd place = 20 points bonus for Olympiad qualification, 3rd place = 10 points for Olympiad qualification.

3. Winner = spot for the next World Cup (likely, Hungary 2023). 2nd place = almost 100% spot for the next World Cup (if Team Canada finishes at top-100 (!) at the next Olympiad).

4. 1st equal = direct IM title, 2nd and 3rd = IM norm, direct FM title. 6 out of 9 = direct FM title.

5. No foreign federations requirement for regular GM and IM norms.

Winner = spot for Women World Cup (WWC). 2nd place = spot for WWC if team Canada (women) finishes at top-39 at the next Olympiad. Good chances, but not 100%.
