    Default Online Olympiad 2021

FIDE finally published the list of teams for top division. According to regulations, top 25 automatically play in final stage (together with 15 teams which qualify from lower stage).

For the ranking FIDE uses the average places (Olympiad 2018, Women Olympiad 2018 and online Olympiad 2020). Canada is number 25, the last one!! That means we don't need to play in lower stage and start playing on Sep 8.

To Victor and the players, your Zoom Arbiter would be there an hour earlier, and in my opinion, it's not a bad idea to get there early to ensure you're set up as per the regulations. Even better would be to attend the Test Day tomorrow, which would be at the same time as the Technical Meeting, which would be 10am NY time.

Given last year's Olympiad, the regulations and their enforcement are now more strict. Especially, if a player loses Zoom screensharing but continues making moves on Chess.com, well that's a big problem. Even GM-level players attended Division 2 Test Day last week, confirmed setups, took quick draws. Seemed well worth it.
