Default When will the chess club open?

That's the question we are all asking.

    The latest status on vaccines:
    - There are 4 vaccines approved now in Canada
    - 3 of them require 2 shots
    - Johnson & Johnson is a single shot (10 million doses - April to Sept)
    - 36.5 million shots by the end of June. (how many people is that?)

"every adult can get a shot by Canada Day"
"everyone who wants a shot can get a shot by end of September".

So, when is your chess club opening up?

I would love to create a list here of anticipated opening dates.

Post your club opening date here!

    Anticipated Opening Dates

Aurora Chess Club - end of September
RA (Ottawa) Chess Club - after Labour Day
Brantford Chess Club - after Labour Day
Burlington Chess Club - after Labour Day

Does anyone else see a pattern?
Although I did have a phone conversation with ? Chess Club and he was hoping for August.

In the meantime, we do have Quick CFC rated online events while we wait.
See upcoming events on the CFC website.

I hope on the end of September we'll be back at Aurora Chess Club.

I am not on the RA (Ottawa) club Executive, but it seems to me that the traditional first Thursday after Labour Day would seem to be a reasonable goal?!

Brantford Chess Club will aim for after Labour Day as well. Obviously situational considerations will be in play. What we don't want to do is open and have to close again within weeks. Hopefully the vaccine rollout drops numbers to manageable amounts by then. Fingers crossed.

I'd like the Burlington Chess Club to start up on September 7th (the first Tuesday after Labour Day). Hopefully, the venue will be open and all of our members will have been vaccinated.

In Quebec, maximum of 8 persons for indoor activities in orange zones, but all competitions are still strictly prohibited.

I was told that the second shot will take four months or more. The check is in the mail.

We will open the RA Chess Club when we are allowed to have access to the RA Center.
