I'd note one oil company mentioned is based in Saudi Arabia; in the current Israel-Hamas conflict, there are oil companies with interests on either side of the issue. Vietnam-era campus protests may have been as much about avoiding being drafted into a dubious war to begin with {US gov't was simply ignorant of the relatively modest motives of its enemy at the time, unjustifiably fearing a domino-effect in that case}. Also, left-wing bias on campus has long been an issue due to earlier {perhaps unrelated} communist subversion]:
