Here's a poll to see how respondents feel about their regular and Active ratings, i.e. do they care about both or either.

I care only about my regular rating

I don't care about my regular or Active rating

Hi Kevin,
I care about my FIDE and CFC rating.
I do not truly care about my active rating and blitz rating because I see those games as practice games for my CFC rating.
Eric Van Dusen
I care about my Active rating, if only because it reflects poorly on me at the moment. My regular rating is at an all-time high, while my (deflated) Active rating is at an all-time low, nearly 300 points less.
I have posted a similar poll on chesstalk, for anyone who wishes to vote there too.
How about the Federation abloish Active raitngs?
On chesstalk Aris suggested a unified rating that would weight games according to time control (faster = less rating points at stake). Perhaps some chess servers do it that way?
Active ratings or else unified ratings would be desirable if the CFC were to have organizers hold Active events - otherwise pairings for Active events would need to be made using regular ratings. I accept that some players are better than others at faster or slower time controls, so accuracy would be questionable if regular ratings were used for Active events - more than in the case of weighted unified ratings.
Whether the CFC would use regular or unified ratings, if it abolishes Active ratings it would save on time and costs, at least. What is worse in my eyes is keeping an Active rating system that continues to be deflated. I know I'm less strong at faster time controls like for Active chess, but I'm certainly not as weak at it as my current Active rating suggests.
Here's another proposal: Change Active to include Blitz - down to SD/5, or SD/3+2.
Probably need to play with the fees also but that's separate.
