    2011 Calgary Closed – 8-player RR – strong: average rating of 2195 – won by IM Eric Hansen ( 2537 ) – 6.5/7 pts. ( final rd. 7 by default ).( See http://www.calgarychess.com/2011CC.html for full cross table ) . Eric is one of two players playing for Canada in the upcoming Americas Continental Championship in Mexico, where six births in the FIDE World Cup later this year are at stake.

    Oh, I see: the result didn't matter - Eric Hansen would win the tournament anyway...

    It looks to me that Yam could have tied for 1st if he had won and Hansen lost...

    Yes, my bad... arithmetic! That makes it all the more bizarre that there was a forfeit.
