The online CYCC attracted 360 players and replenished the youth fund so that we are ready for the resumption of international OTB play. We had 147 players register for an online play-in for the Pan Am Youth Festival which was unfortunately cancelled. Youth are playing CFC chess in part encouraged by the Covid rating incentive where quick rating gains can be translated to CFC regular rating gains. One of my students who plays a lot in tournaments and online tournaments has jumped 200 points, three times for a total of 600 points.
It would be nice if we could generate similar interest in other realms like adult players, seniors, women.
