NAYCC Ratings - recalculated

NAYCC 2022 in Calgary was CFC rated 2 weeks ago, but in hindsight, I screwed it up. Sorry about that.

The issue is foreign players who don’t yet have a CFC rating. The CFC policy is to initialize their CFC rating based on either FQE, FIDE, or USCF ratings, whichever is most relevant. Until recently they were taken at par, except last year we adjusted so CFC = FIDE + 125.

Two weeks ago I used the ratings for pairing purposes to initial CFC rating for those new players. FIDE ratings (at par) where considered first, then USCF ratings. Upon reflection, I think that would tend to understate the true ratings. USCF ratings should be a better gauge than FIDE especially considering a FIDE lag due to COVID.

Consequently, the NAYCC 2022 has been re-rated with new foreign players initial CFC rating set as:

Greater of [FIDE +125] or USCF.

Everyone should see a bump in their ratings.
