Le Championnat junior du Québec (QJCC) was held in Montreal on April 20-22, 2018. A winner of the invitation-only, round-robin top section would become the Quebec representative to the Canadian Junior Chess Championship and the FQE representative to the 6e Rencontres Internationales des Échecs Francophones (RIDEF) in Albania.
After three days of hard-fought battles, FM Olivier-Kenta Chiku-Ratté became the new Quebec Junior Champion. Congratulations, and good luck in Toronto and Tirana!

All the ten invited players in the Invitational section has been finalized. Almost all of them are titled players and I am sure it will be very interesting to watch the 9 round robin play by these ten top juniors in Canada.

Open: Trophies + 1 entry boys (if CFC 2200+ by Jan 1, 2019 – then a place in the Invitation section of 2019 Canadian Junior CC)
Open: Trophies + 1 entry girls (if CFC 2000+ by Jan 1, 2019 – then a place in the Invitation section of 2019 Canadian Junior CC)
U-1800: Trophies + 1 entry boys (Open Section of Canadian Junior CC) + 1 entry girls (Open Section of Canadian Junior CC)
U-1300: Trophies + 1 entry boys (U-1800 Section* of Canadian Junior CC) + 1 entry girls (U-1800 Section* of Canadian Junior CC)
*The player must reach at least 1301 to play in the U-1800 Section
Winners of Invitational section ( boy and girl ) gets to represent Canada at the World Junior Chess Championship and provided travelling expenses of $ 1,500 each by CJCC organizer.
