2024 Excelsior May Rapid Championship

Date: May 4, 2024

Location: Excelsior Chess Club, 91 Skyway Ave, Suite 206, Toronto, ON
Entry Fee: $35 (Free for GM/WGM and IM/WIM if registered before April 20; discounts for club members and families)
Why Compete?: Engage in intense and swift battles in this rapid format that challenges your quick thinking and sharpens your reflexes. Ideal for players who enjoy a fast-paced game.
Time Control: 10 minutes + 10 seconds increment per move



May 5 Juniors CYCC Qualifier

Date: May 5, 2024

Location: Excelsior Chess Club
Entry Fee: $35 (Discounts for club members and families)
Why Compete?: This qualifier is a golden opportunity for junior players to advance in the competitive chess landscape and earn their spot in larger national competitions.
Time Control: 20 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move


May Open Championship

Dates: May 24-26, 2024

Location: Excelsior Chess Club

Entry Fee: $80 (Special rates for early registration, students, and seniors; free for early registered GM/WGM and IM/WIM)
Why Compete?: Showcasing a blend of strategy and endurance, this tournament is perfect for players looking to test their skills in a highly competitive environment. With various sections available, all participants can find their match.
Time Control: 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move
