Back in the Golden era of Chess and earlier (we'll define this as the 72 Fischer era and earlier part of the century), Hastings was the top name in International chess. Tradition still lives on with some of us, and I always like to have a look at this Christmas event.

That look now reveals that Canadian IM Raja Panjwani (attending University in London) was one half point behind the leaders after 6 rounds.

The web site shows his game still in progress as I write this up, against GM Vocaturo.

The leaders are GM Jones (ENG), GM Sulskis (LTU), and IM Gao Rui (CHN)
