I think a warning about this should appear on the CFC website - perhaps replacing the Google warning?

Warning about what?

In in meantime: Are there any restrictions who is allowed to teach/coach chess in Canada? (Some organizations require police screening.)

I meant a warning about this individual (similar to the warning at the link).
Sorry, I guess that was poorly worded.

I am not aware of any restrictions on people who teach chess, piano, quilting or whatever. Organized baseball, hockey and similar sports usually have police check requirements for coaches and anyone who is involved in any capacity, but I don't know if it is more to cover themselves in case of problems or if it is mandated... if it is mandated, I am not sure who mandates it.

I had a funny feeling as to who this would be. Snyder has authored a few books for juniors, some of them pretty good. A few years ago I asked Larry why he wasn't carrying them any more. He danced around a bit and finally said he had some serious reservations about the character of the author. 'nuff said.
