Here's a multiple-choice poll of conspiracy theories that I think are at least plausible, chosen pretty much from the wiki that follows that lists (and sometimes elaborates on) many conspiracy theories. Respondents are invited to indicate one or more theories that they think are likely true.

Bumping poll thread.

I'd add that it seems to me there's too many oddities for the JFK assassination not likely to be the result of a conspiracy.

Global warming has a seperate general poll thread in this Off-Topic Forum. In my view there have been apparently many (and wide-ranging) largely successful whitewashing attempts made to influence public opinion, e.g. of Climategate scandals 1.0 (and so on in the series), and people forget such things as the Trudeau govt's deleting of 100 years of Canadian weather data, replacing it with modelling values instead. Here's yet one more instance where an authority was caught doing something that is at the least not truly scientific (no doubt few pay much attention though):

notalotofpeopleknowthat.wordpress.com/2022/04/23/Airbrushing The Pause From History:

It's true that e.g. oil companies may issue falsehoods now and then, but at least they are not the ones making such an extraordinary claim (and potentially immensely costly one to act on, in terms of effort, money and power changing hands) as MGW - those who claim to believe in it have a lot more of the onus to be honest, when in positions of responsibility.

P.S.: Sometimes I wonder if everyday weather forecasts nowadays are based more on gov't climate modelling projections than on proper meteorological methods. In any case, I once discovered Ottawa temperature data numbers given by The Weather Network, for a then recent month, didn't add up at all, the average high per day given being significantly higher than it should have been.

P.P.S.: An oldie but goodie (and shocker):
tnc.news/2019/09/27/Federal Liberals play fast and loose with climate data, fabricating past weather patterns [after deleting a century of cross-Canada weather data - from the article: In a video shared by her official Twitter account and then later deleted, Minister McKenna could be heard suggesting that by repeating a claim loudly enough, people will eventually believe it.]:

The 'Stolen Election' (of US, 2020) seems a very unlikely conspiracy theory to be true, to me. No denying, there's always some cheating by both sides in the US elections, but would have to be so massive and undetected by one side (Dems) to such a degree as seems very unlikely. There are some reported verified cases of shenanigans by Dem-rooting side (e.g. by Facebook, even), but in insufficient magnitude so far. Especially since GOP party was no doubt also trying to put its thumb on the scales (such is not investigated much, as they lost the race for POTUS that time). Here's one link where even Conservatives (not those blindly backing Trump) find a stolen election unlikely:

There are arguments for and against Hitler surviving WWII, and it's a close call in my view to believe his survival is a likely conspiracy theory. The story of his teeth being found and claimed to be his? Who knows for sure how that came to be. He had known health (and drug addiction) issues, including a serious heart condition (unless at least that detail was falsified for some reason), however, suggesting he may have not lived much longer after 1945, even if he did cross the Atlantic. On the other hand, there are (old) CIA reports and even people claiming to have seen him in South America over a number of years after WWII. Here's a link to a story related to his supposedly surviving the war:

theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/27/Hitler lived until 1962? That's my story says Argentinian writer, with an accusation of plagiarism:

Here's a link at least somewhat relevant to advancement of New World Order conspiracy theory being likely, perhaps:

Op-ed: A new world order is emerging — and the world is not ready for it:

More relevant, maybe:

The 'New World Order' conspiracy theory is back – and its proponents support Vladimir Putin:

https://www.alternet.org/2022/03/new-world-order-vladimir-putin/

Somewhat old link that gives a taste of why Bilderberg group (one force among who knows how many?) is suspected by critics of conspiring to create a new world order:

Does Freemasonry involve conspiracy? That they're such a secretive bunch with odd rituals and codes suggests it may be so. Here's a link about one book re: Freemasons:

Fwiw, here's a YouTube video re: Cultural Marxism is really happening (!?):

In the US, at least, some try to fight back:

When it comes to an alleged Deep State within the US gov't, the Majestic 12, for example, goes back rather far. Here's a link to a discussion of more recent times:

The “deep state” is real. But it’s not what Trump thinks it is. [Author David Rohde explains how the “deep state” evolved into a sprawling conspiracy theory/May 13, 2020]:

There are any number of other conspiracy theories than spelled out in this thread's poll that seem at least plausible to me. Here's one:

Was Korean Airlines Flight 007 a spy plane? [The month of September will herald the anniversary of one of the most bizarre and gruesome chapters in world aviation history - the destruction of Korean Airlines Flight 007 with 269 passengers on board over Soviet territory.]:

One more plausible(!?) conspiracy theory not spelled out in this thread's poll is, was Amelia Earhart on a spy mission when she disappeared not many years before US entered WWII? Here's one (old) link that's relevant:

Author says Earhart was on spy mission:

Illuminati - a conspiracy theory (not explicitly given in the poll) that's maybe not too plausible (to me), but it's entertaining at the least. Here's a YouTube link:
