For the ones that are not willing to read the entire document:

1. Mar 13-14 (blitz), Mar 20-21 (rapid)

2. For blitz: Swiss 20 rounds (10 rounds/day). 3 min + 2 sec

3. No separate tournament for Women. The highest placed Women wins the Women championship.

4. Deadline for registration: Mar 5, 2021. 11:59 PM UTC (London time zone, 5 hours gap from Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal, 8 hours from Vancouver)

5. Eligibility:

a. Secondary education completed
b. Officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university,
c. Were born in 1995 or later.
d. Not banned by the Hosting Internet Platform

6. Capacity: 1000 players, no entry fee.

From FIDE:

Due to serious technical problems on the playing platform, the First FIDE World University Individual Online Blitz Championship will start over on Sunday, March 14 at 2 pm UTC. The results of the first day will be annulled. More details to follow.

We would like to apologise for serious technical problems encountered during the first day of the championship. We are currently doing our best to ensure the tournament will run smoothly from now on.

Likely, more than 1000 players was too many for this event. After the Sat fiasco, FIDE divided players into 4 different groups. 2 winners of each group advance to final.

GM Razvan Preotu (U of Texas) finished with 8/10, which was good for 4th place on group D.

Joseph Belissimo (U of Toronto) also finished with 8/10 in group B (8th place)
