By now, I assume everyone is aware of the situation from the final play-off game between Bator Sambuev and Nikolay Noritsyn. If not, a reasonable summary of events is available at the CFC News Feed (by John Upper).

Noritsyn has appealed the result and it is now in the hands of the National Appeals Committee.

Unfortunately, time is of the essence as FIDE is expecting us to name our representative to the World Cup by tomorrow !! Presumably we will be late.

Two things,

First, I withdraw as an NAC member from hearing an Appeal of my own decision (Mandatory under Quebec Laws). I will continue to be an NAC member after this case has been closed.

Second, I will fully cooperate with the NAC. Neither I nor the FQE has anything to hide. The organiser wilfully released the video in the interest of justice and fairness.

P.S. My inbox is free from any communication from the NAC. My report is ready whenever they want it.
