Could the Newsletters NOT use crappy pictures?

The FRONT page of the January issue: faces are transformed. Unless the purpose was to "Entertain" by placing those pictures in a front row.
Page 2 - why is a picture used when a plain text would save a file size and would provide clarity.
Page 3 - Canadian Chess Links - a PICTURE again. It is quite hard to read those links. It suppose to be a simple text with CLICKABLE links.
Page 8 - a bronze winner deserved a larger picture.
Page 41 - an advertisement of the CCN yearbook. A picture again without a working link to COMPLETE DETAILS. What is a size of the yearbook?
Page 42 - skipped. I'm biased :D

not related to pictures:
My January Newsletters version jumps from page 55 to page 61 (an internal numeration). 'Click to play" does not work.
