View Full Version : Will the CFC officially protest the proposed FIDE changes

The Dutch federation has already published a letter to FIDE, protesting the proposed changes to the rating procedures.

At the slight risk of being a "me-too" copycat, does the CFC intend to protest the proposal too?

I think our first step is to see what if anything Hal knows about these proposals and take it from there.

He will be at the Congress.

I really think the CFC should publicly protest these changes. There is no way anyone could organize a FIDE rated tournament after that.

It's nice that he'll be there... but how long does it take to find out what he knows? It's been two days since the Dutch letter, surely we could be in a position to protest by now?

I agree. Also, I may have missed this, but it says something about 50 euro annual fee in perpetuity. What happens if you decide to take a break for two years??

And one more thing. Events can ONLY be submitted by IOs, who must pay a fee every 4 years to maintain their status. That's great considering Canada has all of 2 IOs.
