Q: The Cooperative Chess Coalition ( CCC ) is a cooperative, collegial, chess community group. Don’t individuals get “ lost “ in collegial/collective action groups? A: Actually, an individual usually has more influence in a group. The reason is that administration tends to be more responsive where a number of their members are championing some cause. And the group can be democratically run ( as is CCC ), with members having a vote on major decisions. The individual then has equal voice with any of the group leaders.
