At Amber, Levon Aronian increased his lead again today with a 1.5-0.5 score over Vladimir Kramnik. Meanwhile Magnus Carlsen split victories with Vishy Anand.
Totals after 9 double rounds are Aronian 13 with Carlsen now a full point behind with 12. Anand is still tied in third with Vassily Ivanchuk and now Alexander Grischuk who picked up 1.5 against Anish Giri.
The first round of the European Championship got off today. The web site displays the top 50 boards. Only two of the nine 2700 players (Nepomniachtchi & Caruana) were able to get the full point, as there were lots of draws on the top boards in round 1.
