There are two rounds today at the MP Rekyjavik Open. After completion of the early round there is a two way tie for first between Stelios Halkais (Greece) and Robert Hess (USA). They both have a perfect score of 4, and defeated higher rated opposition in the 4th round. They will meet today in round 5.
Amongst those at 3.5 are Canadian Open Champion Luke McShane (Eng), Ahmed Adly (Egypt), Yuriy Kuzubov (Ukraine) and 14 year old Ilya Nyzhnyk (Ukraine).
Canadian IM Leon Piasetski is getting the usual Swiss pairings, defeating 2 weaker opponents and losing to two Grandmasters. He’s paired down this afternoon.
