Just took a quick look to see who had visited the 2 CFC Discussion Boards ( Governors' Discussion Board, and this members' CFC Chess Forum ) today, Monday, Aug. 9. The stats for both boards are combined, so you can't tell whether governors have visited only the Governors' Board or the members' Forum, or both. Also, the stats are actually much lower than actual activity, because the stats do not include those who come and " view " but do no " log in ".

So here are the stats for those who " logged in ":

I was pleasantly surprised to see that 14 governors had visited ( almost 25 % in one day ! - not bad, though we'd all like to see more governors monitoring the boards on a regular basis ). Also, this total included 3/7 executive ( Bob G, Fred McKim, and Michael Barron ) - also a good sign - and Bob and Fred have been regularly posting on both boards - good communication.

The attendance of CFC members was light - only 8 today. But it is my experience that over the course of 3-4 days, there are about 20-30 hardcore CFC'ers who come here in addition to the regular 20 or so governors. Realistically, we know that the members' CFC Chess Forum has become a place for serious CFC policy discussion ( a different character than the more light-hearted CMA ChessTalk ). And meaningful dialogue on current CFC issues is, unfortunately, not to the liking of many CFC members. The more fluffy general interest items on the CMA board are more the cup of tea of many members. But the CFC Board allows those who want information , to get it; and for those who want input, and to dialogue with CFC Governors, it is a place for them to actively participate. If it is doing that, then it is fiiling its role for the CFC - a respectful home for debate on CFC matters ( we have fortunately avoided, so far, the flame-wars and negativism that is sometimes too prevalent on the CMA Board ).
