Check-In/Registration: Friday 5:45pm – 6:15pm
Entry Fee for pre-registered players: $50
Late Entry (no pre-registration): $10 extra
$10 off entry fee for players playing in first CFC event

Chess Federation of Canada (CFC):
All players must be (or become) a member of the CFC or pay a CFC Tournament Fee
1) CFC Annual Membership (NB) - includes a subscription to the monthly Canadian Chess News magazine (PDF Format) and eligibility for any CFC rated events for one year: Adult - $46, Junior (U20) - $30
2) CFC Tournament Fee (NB) - allows entry to this one CFC tournament: Adult - $20, Junior (U20) - $10
3) CFC Membership Rates and Tournament Fees for other provinces
Format: 5 Round Swiss in one section
Schedule (approximate): Friday 6:30pm, Saturday 10am and 4pm, Sunday 9am and 2pm
Note: The New Brunswick Chess Association Annual General Meeting will be held between round 2 and 3, at 3 pm on Saturday.

Time Control: 120 minutes + 30 second increment

Prize Fund: Based on entries; Cash prizes for first and second; additional book prizes for Top Junior and class prizes available.
Winner will have their name inscribed on the New Brunswick Open Championship trophy for 2023. Tie-break for the trophy will be as follows:

1. Direct Encounter
2. Sonneborn-Berger
3. Most Wins
4. Most Blacks
