2024 FIDE World Junior Chess Championships Under 20 in India from Jun 1 to 14th, 2024

This is the official invitation to all National Chess Federations for participation in the FIDE World Junior Chess Championships 2024 (for Open & Girls Under-20) which will be held in Radisson GIFT City, Gandhinagar, India from 1st to 14th June 2024. The Championship will be organized by Gujarat State Chess Association on behalf of All India Chess Federation with the support of Government of India Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports under the auspices of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

Venue : Radisson GIFT City, Gandhinagar a 5* Hotel at Gandhinagar.

Hotel : Radisson GIFT City, Gandhinagar a 5* Hotel at Gandhinagar. All Participants are obliged to stay in official hotels and bookings must be done through the organizers only.

Categories and Eligibility:
There are only two categories: Open and Female. Players born on or after 1st January 2004 are eligible to participate.


Tournament Details and Time Control:
  • System:The tournament will be played according to the Swiss System in 11 rounds.

  • Time control:The time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from the 1st move.



World Junior Registration - Deadline May 1, 2024
CFC is accepting entries for eligible players until May 1, 2024. No registrations will be accepted after May 1, 2024.

Upon completion the form, CFC will send official registration form and an invoice which must be paid by the required date.


The following fees will be charged
FIDE fee : article 3
Tournament fee: article 4.4
Hotel fee: article 5.5
CFC administrative fee - $100 CAD/player


Official Representatives:
Official Players : The Winners of the OPEN Section (one boy and one girl) from Canadian Junior U20 Chess Championship
All other players can be registered as the additional players.

Official Representatives will have the coverage for accommodation in designated hotel by the organizer base on a double occupancy room and meals starting from lunch on Jun 1st and ending with breakfast on Jun 14th( article 5.5)

VISA:
Article 11.
11.1. All participants applying for a visa must send the copy of the passport (the pages with the photograph and main data) and a confirmation from their Chess Federation before 1st May, 2024. A digital scan of the photo of each player and accompanying person must be sent by email to the organizing committee.
11.2 The Tournament Director will supply official letters of invitation only after all the payments are affected (registration and accommodation fees for every member of the delegation).
11.3 All participants are required to apply for Sports Visa in the respective Indian Embassies. Please note E-Visa may be not suffice. The organising Committee will issue necessary Visa invitation and necessary Ministry Clearances by May, 2024.
