    2023 NORTH AMERICAN YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
    Mexico City, Mexico Dec 1-7, 2023

    National Chess Mexican Federation (FENAMAC) and Confederation of Chess for America (CCA) are inviting all players with FIDE ID from Mexico, USA and Canada, who meet the requirements of this call, to participate in the North American Youth Chess Festival “Mexico City2023.”

    Playing Venue and Official Hotel :
    The event will be held in Sevilla Palace Hotel, Mexico City.
    Av. paseo de la reforma 105 Col. Tabacalera, Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico


    Eligibility:
    There shall be 6 categories: Under 08, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 with separate events for Boys/Open and Girls (in total 12 championships).
    Entitled to participate in each category are:
    Under 08: Players born on or after 1 January 2015,
    Under 10: Players born on or after 1 January 2013,
    Under 12: Players born on or after 1 January 2011,
    Under 14: Players born on or after 1 January 2009,
    Under 16: Players born on or after 1 January 2007,
    Under 18: Players born on or after 1 January 2005.


    Tournament Details and Time Control:
    Tournament Format: The tournament will be played using the Swiss System with 9 rounds. Pairings will be made with the FIDE official software, Swiss-Manager.
    Time Control: 90 minutes for all game plus an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one. Default time is 15 minutes.


    Players Registration Deadline: Oct 6, 2023

    Only players who fill in the CFC registration form will be considered.


    Rules for Selection of Official Players for 2023 North American Youth Chess Championships
    Within one CFC chess calendar year, players who already received official benefits will not be considered unless there is no other player register for the section.


    Official Representatives will have the coverage for accommodation in designated hotel by the organizer base on a double occupancy room and meals in the official hotel starting from dinner on Dec 1st and ending with breakfast on Dec 7th.


    Player in the same age bracket has higher priority than player move up into next age bracket

    1. 2022 CYCC champion in same age group who didn't go to WCCC/WYCC/Pan-American Youth as official player.
    2. 2022 CYCC champion moving up age group who didn't go to WCCC/WYCC/Pan-American Youth as official player.
    3. Second place 2022 CYCC player in same age group who didn't go to WCCC/WYCC/Pan-American Youth as official player.
    4. Second place 2022 CYCC player moving up age group who didn't go to WCCC/WYCC/Pan-American Youth as official player
    5. Third place 2022 CYCC player in same age group who didn't go to WCCC/WYCC/Pan-American Youth as official player
    6. Third place 2022 CYCC player moving up an age group who didn't go to WCCC/WYCC/Pan-American Youth as official player
    7. Highest placing 2022 CYCC player whether in the same age group or moving up who did not go to WCCC/WYCC/Pan-American Youth as official player. Ties are resolved by highest rating.
    8. Anyone in the appropriate age group who played in 2022 CYCC.
    9. In case player(s) graduate into an older age bracket. The one not moving up an age bracket would have priority over someone moving up.
    10. If none of the qualifying players, rating is a tie break if you have two players who did not attend 2022 CYCC.

    After the registration deadline date, CFC office will carefully evaluate all players and select the official players.


    Accommodation Pricing:
    The cost includes accommodation for 6 nights, with arrival on December 1 and departure on December 7, 2023, food from dinner on December 1 to breakfast on December 7. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are buffet style. It is a requirement to stay at the host hotel and make the reservation and payments of the lodging and food packages, only through FENAMAC.
    Single room: USD 1200 dollars.
    Double room: USD 950 dollars.
    Triple or quadruple occupancy: USD 850 dollars.
    Prices are per person. Applies to players, delegates and companions.
