Format: 7 Rounds Swiss (using CFC regular rating)

Section: Open section (rated CFC & FIDE)

Schedule: Oct 6 @ 7pm, Oct 7 @ 10am and 4pm, Oct 8 @ 10am and 4pm, Oct 9 @ 10am and 4pm The default time for any game is 30 min

Entry Fees: $ 100 by Sep 15, $ 120 by Oct 5, and $ 130 on-site
Free entry for GM and IM if registering before Sep 15, full fee after

Prizes:
• 50+ and 65+: $ 200 – 150 - 50 guaranteed for each age category
• Trophies and medals for the first three places in each age category
• All cash prizes are in Canadian dollars

Byes: Single half point bye in rounds 1 - 6 if requested before or during the tournament; zero points byes are allowed for round 7

Special notes: in case of equality of points the ranking will be decided by tie-break as follows: Tie Break 1: Direct Encounter (the result of the players in the same point group); Tie Break 2: The greater number of victories (variable); Tie Break 3: Buchholz Tie-Breaks (variable with parameter); However, the prizes will be split based on the number of points accumulated (for example, if three players accumulate the same number of points for the first position, the prizes from first, second, and third places will be added and split equal between the three players; the next prizes will start from position number four and split as described before, and so on)

Equipment: provided; 8 DGT boards available; live streaming on Excelsior website, and club premises (three monitors available)
