Default Online Olympiad for People with Disabilities

I received the following announcement from FIDE. We are aware of only a few individuals who might qualify for this olympiad. If you believe that you might qualify or know of someone who might qualify please contact the CFC and let us know by sending an email to both (admin@chess.ca and vdrkulec@hotmail.com).

Online Olympiad for People with Disabilities

    Dear Member Federations:

We are happy to inform you that the 1st FIDE Online Olympiad for People with Disabilities will take place from November 20 to December 3, 2020.

The Regulations for the event are available on this link, as well as on the FIDE website.

Please note that each member Federation can register between one and four teams, depending on the number of players with disabilities that are members of that federation:

Up to 50 players: 1 team
    Between 50 and 75 players: 2 teams
    Between 76 and 100 players: 3 teams
101 or more players: 4 teams

Please note that all participants have to be previously registered in the directory of players with disabilities at the DIS website. You can check this database at this link: https://dis.fide.com/wr0.
All your team members must be included in the database: this is a mandatory condition to be a participant in the event.

In case any of your players are not included yet in the database, please send the players’ names and details to the FIDE VP Akaki Iashvili at iashvili.fide@gmail.com before 30 September 2020, using the attached players' form. Please provide a passport-size colored photo of your players as well.

Please share this information with the responsible person from your federation who will be appointed the Manager of the Team/s to start the inclusion of your chess players in the FIDE Database and make the registration process for the Online Olympiad later on.

Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation,
    FIDE Commission for the Disabled
