BIG Congratulations to Team Canada with the overall win, 35.5 - 28.5 , holding the upperhand in both rounds. Below are some interesting facts from both teams.

    Before the Match
Team Canada included 32 players from 5 provinces.
    19 players from Ontario,
    6 players from Alberta,
    5 players from British Columbia,
    1 player from Quebec and
    1 player from Nova Scotia.

Team USA included 32 players from 12 states.

Both USA and Canada had 8 respective masters, the average domestic ratings were 2056/2073 (USA/Canada) in the Open (24 boards) and 1620/1659 (USA/Canada) in the Girls (8 boards). This is a very strong Team match and all players are carefully paired from both sides.

    Final Thoughts
This is a very successful match, from the players pairing aspect, from team communication, following all required directions and from running the tournament aspects.
A very special thanks to FM Christopher Shen who is doing a live commentary for us to enjoy such an exciting event. I hope everyone has as much fun and nervous as I did. Finally, I want to thank all the players and parents for making this event possible, couldn't have done it without you. I had a pleasure working with all of you and I am looking forward to future matches.

For everyone with CFC rating lower than 2000, you are invited to Aug 29 Canada and Romania Match. Email me if interested.
