Default FIDE Calendar changes for 2020 and 2021

At its 2nd Quarter 2020 meeting on June 23, the FIDE Council took the following decision regarding FIDE EVE World Championships:
    1) To postpone the remaining 2020 competitions to 2021 (except World Amateur 2020),
    2) To postpone the 2021 competitions to 2022.
    3) To postpone the bidding procedure of 2023 events to 2021.

This includes the following competitions that were originally scheduled for 2020:
    - World Cadet Rapid & Blitz (Greece),
    - World Youth Rapid & Blitz (Greece),
    - World School (Panama),
    - World Youth (Romania),
    - World Cadets (Georgia),
    - World Youth U-16 Olympiad (Azerbaijan),
    - World Junior (India),
    - World Senior Individual (Italy).

The FIDE Management Board has recommended to approve the organizer's request to postpone the World Amateur 2020 to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is not surprising since the World Amateur Ch. was the only event not postponed by the Q2 2020 FIDE Council, and the chances to hold it were slim.

Therefore, practically all major 2020 FIDE competitions, including the Olympiad, the Paralympiad, the Women's World Cup and the World Championship Match, are orderly postponed to 2021. The only two top events that we can expect in the remaining months of 2020 are the second part of the Men's Candidates and the last stage of the Women's Grand Prix.
