    Something to ponder: Why are/were banks ever legally allowed to charge you a fee that simply says in your passbook: 'Other banking fee'??!

    I don't think I've ever paid any kind of fees in the 30 or so years that I've had my CIBC account. Only catch is to keep a minimum of $1000 in the account.

    The best way to attack the bank fee situation is to buy shares in the banks.
