On a personal note, I would like to extend a very special welcome to the incoming executives, officers and members of the Voting Member Assembly - we are expecting a busy year ahead of us and there is much to do.

For those leaving the ranks of the Executive, Officers and Voting Member Assembly on behalf of the Executive I'm sure they won't mind my giving my sincere thanks for your service to chess both in the past and previous years. A lot of the time one tends to feel that one's work doesn't get noticed except when something one does goes awry but organized Chess in Canada exists due to the all too often unsung efforts of TDs, Organizers and Arbiters as well as those who serve on provincial and national boards and I salute you all!
