I received a nice International entrant today, Lawrence Cohen from Illinois. Lawrence seems to play in one Canadian event per year, visiting a different province each time.

We seem to be on track to have our usual 20 or so players …. maybe a dozen youngsters in the Junior division.
$200 for 1st place …. and I'm still the 1st seed (bonus).

Up to 18 players registered (and representing 5 provinces / states) and 14 in the Junior.
-
We ended up with 27 players in the Open, 14 in the junior (with an overlap of 10). Players were from PE, NB, NS, ME, IL. Biggest turnout to this event in nearly 20 years. Bodes well for upcoming events.
