    Default Chess news from Quebec

On or about September 07, 2018, the FQE e-mailed arbiters informing them about punishment imposed on a chess player. Subsequently, a detailed announcement was published on the FQE site; it explained the case and listed four types of sanctions.

Naturally, the news generated a lot of interest in the Quebec chess community; animated discussions ensued on the quebecechecs.com board as well as on the French side of ChessTalk. These discussions might be of interest to all chess players in Canada, especially since it is alleged that a report by Dr. Kenneth Regan was commissioned.

The FQE announcement was quickly removed from their site (within a few hours), and a long discussion thread was taken off the quebecechecs site. But the player is still listed as a member of the FQE.
