Serious diminution of the independence of the FIDE Commissions
There is a proposal, made without fanfare and that did not attract any attention, to give to the FIDE President the discretionary power to fire any President, Councillor and Member of any non-elected commission. The same proposal also demands approval by the FIDE president of all Councillors and Secretaries.
With those two new rules, all the non-elected commissions will lose their independence. They will be forced to propose only changes approved by the FIDE President.
It is not too late to oppose this change.
