    Here's the wiki on Saudi Arabia; why we keep taking oil from this country, while allowing the hardly federally contested obstruction of our pipelines being built, has everything to do with federal Liberal political inclinations and interests:

    Below is the wiki re: Gerald Butts, formerly Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's senior advisor, until Butts' resignation today, related to the SNC-Lavalin scandal (he claims he's been distracted by it). Federal parliament resumes in Ottawa tomorrow, where the scandal will no doubt be a hot topic (meanwhile, on that day, Albertan Yellow Vests roll into town to launch a massive protest on Parliament Hill, especially re: unbuilt pipelines):

    Below is an interesting link on the apparent recent monarch butterfly population increase:

    https://globalnews.ca/news/4927062/u...erfly-habitat/

    This reminded me of a conversion I had last year at the RA Chess Club's building's bar & grill with someone who has retired from the Privacy Commission, and more to the point is also an NDP voter. The latter is remarkable given the many views he had that were atypical of left-wing dogmatic beliefs/propaganda, namely that he believed (besides that the internet has a lot of garbage on it):

    1. Monarch butterfly population has not ever been declining;
    2. No manmade global climate change;
    3. Arctic [sea] ice levels are fine, so-called satellite images be damned;
    4. No decline ever in the world's honeybee population;
    5. No decline ever in the world's bird population;
    6. No decline ever in the world's fish population;
    7. No great island of trash in the Pacific.

    Here's the rather short and sanitized (left-wing!?) Wikipedia entry on the United Nation's Agenda 21. To me, this plan looks like a somewhat sneaky attempt at a slow global power grab, at the expense of unsuspecting nation states, by the UN, all thanks to a Trojan horse (namely the so-called urgent need to do something about alleged manmade global climate change):

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agenda_21

    Note that in 2015, Agenda 2030 was drafted. Then, just last year (2018) it was claimed (see earlier in this thread, i.e. on page 3, post#30, by me) that urgent action to save the planet was needed before 12 years from now. 2018+12=2030. Coincidence?:

    This website, and this thread, normally has such minimal participation in the way of posts by Forum members (other than myself, in regard to this thread anyway) that it now seems to me that things won't get out of hand if I once again post something lengthy about the current POTUS, Donald Trump. Albeit, it's just a link to the wiki entry on his presidency, though the entry in itself is a bit of a hoot when you consider the soft gloves treatment left-leaning(!?) Wikipedia gives in their main entry re: Liberal Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (see earlier in this thread, i.e. page 2, post #16, by me). I am encouraged by the number of views this non-chess news topics thread is getting, though:

    Fwiw, here's a link to Wikipedia's (lengthy) entry re: Religion:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion

    P.S.: here's a link to a blog entry of mine re: my own religious beliefs and experiences. I'd currently be considered to be a rather unorthodox Christian, assuming my views etc. weren't dismissed out of hand:

    Here's Loblaws in the thick of another PR problem, albeit this time more to the embarrassment of the Federal Liberal government; the chain received $12M from the latter to install new refrigerators:

    Here's the results of the latest Israeli election. It looks like Bibi Netanyahu will stay as Prime Minister, the way the political horse trading is expected to go down. For those into Biblical prophecy watching, it thus seems that any deal to divide the city of Jerusalem as part of a seven year peace pact is very unlikely for the time being, as Bibi is if nothing else a hardliner. However, this might change surprisingly quickly, e.g. if Bibi is convicted of corruption charges and is forced to step down, at some point:
