Default Requests for exemption from penalty for not participating in the Canadian Closed

Players who are not able to participate in the Canadian Closed due to a conflicting examination or graduation and do not wish to have the penalty of ten points apply against Olympiad selection should notify the executive before the Canadian Closed begins. The Canadian Closed runs from June 27 to July 1. Anyone else who cannot attend for a different valid reason should also apply to the executive for a waiver before June 27th.

The tournament is being organized on a short time line. Complaints should be directed to the CFC and not the FQE organizers who are doing a service to the players and the chess community by organizing this event.

The executive have already granted a waiver to Razvan Preotu for reason of an exam and high school graduation ceremony.

It is hoped that we will be able to organize this event on a longer timeline for the next instance and beyond.
