Default World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad 2017 Ahmedabad, India

World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad 2017 Ahmedabad, India

Next year U-16 Chess Olympiad will be held in India.

Date has not been determined yet.

If anyone of you who would like to represent Canada, please indicate your interest by sending to the following email address below :

CFC would like to send the strongest team as far as possible. Preparation will be done as early as possible and that's why we want to select the team.

The team comprises 4 boys and 1 girl. We can send as many teams as possible but CFC normally provides financial support for the first team.

The player must be of certain level of play. If you think you are good enough and would like to play in this tournament, then write to us. Think about it carefully before writing to us as we also do not want cancellations at the last minute citing various reasons.

Please send you emails to ghua71ATyahoo.ca

I will be posting another thread for 2017 international events like WYCC/NAYCC/Pan-Am and other events in the near future to know who may want to play in these tournaments.

The following REQUIREMENTS has been approved by the CFC executives for the selection of players to represent Canada for the Team Canada - 1

The requirements are as follows :

    1. The parents/players MUST write to me to indicate their willingness to participate. Dateline by Mar 1, 2017. There are more than 80 days from now to Mar 1, 2017 for the players and parents to think about it.
    2. CFC rating - We will select the players based on the highest rated who also write to us.
    3. Cut-off date by April 1, 2017. This will give the players more than 100 days from now to April 1, 2017 to improve their ratings.

The first team official players ( 4 boys and 1 girl ) will be provided full lodging and food by the organizers at the tournament venue normally.

CFC will provide reimbursement of at least $ 1k for the air ticket ( PARTIAL AIRFARE ) to Ahmedabad, India.

This will have meant that the expenses of the official players will be covered considerably.

As mentioned before, CFC would like to send the strongest team as far as possible. CFC may also send Team 2 if there are sufficient interest and may cover part of the expenses.

We invite you to write to us at ghua71ATyahoo.ca if you think you are qualified and good for the Canada Team.

Dateline to write to us is Mar 1, 2017

Thank you, Gary, for informing chess community!
Maybe it's better to finalize the selection of the players later, after CYCC?
    Thanks,
