As per the NFP articles "Subject to the Regulations under the Act, any proposal may include nominations for the election of directors if the proposal is signed by not less than 1% of members entitled to vote at the meeting at which the proposal is to be presented."

Based on this article, it appears that a voting member has to propose a nomination. This would satisfy the 1% requirement.

I believe that outsiders who are CFC regular members or Life Members should be allowed to run for any CFC office. There is no tournament coordinator election scheduled so he cannot run for that office.

Not quite true - in the old days a non-Governor only had the right to participate in the meeting if he/she was holding a proxy. Often the pres would recognize someone but wasn't required to. This isn't an option with our software since if someone has posting access they have voting access.
