I passed on your suggestion about the refresh time on old server to Resolution. I asked them to do it, but that was just 5 minutes ago.
I think the refresh time is called TTL (Time To Live) where they are looking but it might be too late to make a difference
... the time to reduce that was several days before the dns switchover, but it is worth a try if they will do it.

I use other dns servers that are not from the internet service provider...

I am not with Cogeco; I am with http://www.start.ca
(a *very fine* ISP by the way, that runs on top of Rogers Cable infrastructure - tell them I sent you and I'll get a credit!!
    - no long term contract;
    - you buy the DOCSIS D3 modem
    - etc - LOL)

I'm still on the old website. A Cogeco customer, unfortunately.

Poor Bob. I wonder how many times his picture has been cursed today?

You can try opening a command window (as administrator on a windows machine)
and entering the command: ipconfig /flushdns

Then try going to chess.ca and see who you see.

Otherwise, you may just have to wait for the new dns address to get sorted out in the universe....

They did it at about 3:30pm.

    Hi Bob,
I’ve set the expiry and refresh time on the records much lower. It should help finish the propagation faster.

I tried rescuing Bob. I posted my picture instead.
But the old site doesn't seem to want to allow the prisoner exchange.
    Sorry Bob!

The CFC DART team will attempt a rescue ASAP in accordance with our no man left behind policy.
I'll get on the governors to pass that motion at the next meeting!
err, sorry Vlad. I mean voting members.

I think I'm getting punchy waiting for an internet miracle.

A survey of my newsletter readers this evening shows a migration of 75% to the new website server.
But of course, I am in the 25%. Computers hate me, grrrrr. I have been told we should be at close to 100% after 48 hours. That would be noon on wednesday.

I just spend a good 10 minutes on the new site, just surfing crosstables and ratings searches. The response time was good. We will see how it holds up as the traffic increases tomorrow. I am cautiously optimistic.
