Given the amount of CFC Executive time spent by matters related to the CYCC and WYCC the new Executive needs to work hard to see things run in a more balanced way. While obviously the percentage varies from month to month there have been months where 50% of discussions amongst the Exec relate to CYCC / WYCC matters and this simply should not be.

Thank you, Garland, for constructive suggestion!

Here is what the incumbent could have done better:

    October 2013 Quarterly Governors' Meeting:
    - no Youth Coordinator report

    WYCC 2013:
    - official players selection was done secretly, behind closed doors
    - no efforts to find proper replacement for Canadian Champions who were unable to attend WYCC - despite CFC rules
    - transportation expenses for Canadian Champions were not fully paid - despite available funds
    - non-qualified Windsor player was official player in U12 section and got CFC funding for the trip
    - no Canadian representative in U18 section

    April 2014 Quarterly Governors' Meeting:
    - no Youth Coordinator report

    NAYCC 2014:
    - non-qualified Windsor player was official player in U8 section and got CFC funding for the trip
    - no report of results
    - lost opportunity to use Canadian success for promoting chess
    - no financial report

    AGM 2014:
    - no Youth Coordinator report

    WYCC 2014:
    - not clear who, when and how select official players
    - requirements to register and pay all fees before CYCC even starts

    Canadian Junior:
    - was not organized

    CFC Youth Committee:
    - was not formed

I would do all of that differently.
    Thanks,
    Michael Barron

That was one of only two players who registered for the tournament by the deadline that we had announced. As usual you are incorrect. The CFC did not fund him. We submitted his name at the deadline as the highest rated and highest finisher at CYCC in order to get someone from Canada funded as an official player with funding coming from the organizers. We were not able to find anyone who could be excused from school obligations in under 14 girls and as a result no one was funded.

    - no report of results
    - lost opportunity to use Canadian success for promoting chess
    - no financial report
Results are still being tallied. The priority was the year end financial reports.

    AGM 2014:
    - no Youth Coordinator report

    WYCC 2014:
    - not clear who, when and how select official players

    - requirements to register and pay all fees before CYCC even starts

    Canadian Junior:
    - was not organized

    CFC Youth Committee:
    - was not formed

I'm sure you would. God help us.

Vlad, could you prove your innuendo?
    Facts, please...

Do you know that I was an executive for 3 consecutive terms with 3 different Presidents?
If I was so disruptive - why they didn't kick me out at the first opportunity?

Is it Youth Coordinator responsibility to organize Ontario Open?
What about Canadian Junior, for example?

Is it prudent to rely so much on a single person?
And what exactly Youth Coordinator is doing for CYCC and WYCC?

    And the last question:
Who is running for Youth Coordinator? Is it Vladimir Drkulec?
    Thanks,

    Thank you, Nikolay!
I accept the nomination and promise to revive Youth Committee.

Ironic that you have declined to answer the same question when it was asked of you.

I didn't have any position with CFC unlike you and Frank Lee, maybe you should write for him as you've done it on the Chess Talk.

Perhaps if you are capable you could read his report in the outgoing meeting.
