CYCC is the Canadian Youth Chess Championship which will be held in Ottawa July 10-13, 2013. The Canadian Youth Chess Championship determines the Canadian Champion in each age and gender group (Under 18, 16, 14, 12, 10 and 8 Open and Girls). Top 3 players in each age and gender group qualify to represent Canada at the World Youth Chess Championship which will be held in the United Arab Emirates in December. This year the UAE will provide room and board to all participants for the WYCC. Normally this is only provided to only one official representative of each country in each age group in the Open and Girls category. In the last two years four Windsor players qualified for the WYCC in each year.

You can qualify to play in CYCC by playing in a YCC tournament and scoring 50%. You can also qualify by playing in OYCC (Ontario Youth Chess Championship) and scoring 50% or whatever threshold the Junior Coordinator establishes (last year it was 2/5).
