The CFC Regular Chess Post – March 22/13 B – Canadian Chess News Editor Appointed.

John Upper has been appointed as the CCN Editor, effective May 1, 2013. This decision was the result of the recent RFP put out by the CFC. The new duties will include an added daily web feed for interesting news and articles in Canada and elsewhere (starting the first week in May). His first CCN will appear on June 1.

Mr. Upper, from Ottawa has a BA and MA. He is a chess writer (appearing in Chessbase.com) and webmaster for the RACC in Ottawa. He has marketing experience in two recent successful political campaigns and was the Newsletter editor for a Community Association.

I think it is important that John has pointed out that Edward Porper is still the editor of Canadian Chess News, 'til his term ends. Edward will be issuing the April and May CCN's. So we would encourage all to send in reports to him for those two Issues.

John has said that he will be more active, once the deadline for submissions for the May Issue has passed in mid-April. He then intends to give some more bio material on himself, and to outline to some degree his plan's for CCN as its new editor.
