The CFC Regular Chess Post – January 2/13 – 2013 Canadian Junior

This 10-player round-robin tournament is sanctioned by the Chess Federation of Canada. It was organized and sponsored by the Chess'n Math Association, Canada's National Scholastic Chess Organization. It was held December 26-31 in Toronto at Briton House, 720 Mt Pleasant Rd. It was therefore 9 rounds; time control was 120 minutes + 30 sec increment. Games were broadcast on the MonRoi system.

Prize fund: Trophies to the top 3. The winner is provided with airfare to the 2013 World Junior and airfare for his coach....plus $1,000 for training between the time the youngster wins the Canadian Junior and the start of the World Junior.

The new Canadian Junior Champion is IM Richard Wang of Alberta. Congratulations Richard!!
