The CFC Regular Chess Post – November 19/12 – WYCC – Team Canada Final Results.

This world championship took place from Nov. 8 ( Rd. 1) – 18 (Rd. 11) in Maribor, Slovenia. 1587 players from 89 countries were registered. Andrew Giblon was the head of the Canadian delegation. The two coaches were Andrew Peredun and Edward Porper. The team consisted of 28 members in 12 different categories, and was the 13th biggest of the tournament. Here are some notable final results:

Rd. 11 – Bd. 1 - 91 Zhu, Harmony – Canada ( 7.5 ) 0-1 ( 9.5 ) Asadi, Motahare – Iran – 23 ( had clinched the Gold Medal with a round still to go )

- ended in a 6-way tie for 8th, and took 8th on tie-break. A very fine run at it for Canada’s youngest competitor

- ended in a 17-way tie for 12th; on tie-break, finishes in 17th place.

- ended in a 13-way tie for 20th; came 23rd on tie-break
