The CFC Regular Chess Post – Sept. 9/12 – Canadian Olympiad Results.

Both of the Canadian teams ended up with finishes largely consistent with their ratings. The Open team ( Sambuev, Gerzhoy, Noritsyn, Hansen and Porper ) was ranked 53rd and finished 52nd. The Women’s team ( Khoudgarian, Peng, Botez, Lacau-Rodean and Orlova ) was ranked 59th and finished 64th.

Of course the big news was Eric Hansen's GM norm, which coupled with his result in the earlier Isthmia tournament in Greece makes him a GM-elect.

WCM Jackie Peng, who played 2nd board for the Women's Team, finished 6/9 and with this result, will be awarded the WFM title! Congratulations Jackie!
