    Default New CFC ratings calculator

I've modified a ratings calculator I found online to use the new CFC bonus point system, so you'll be able to see what your rating might be before the event is rated!

    http://calculator.chesscanada.info/

Nice and easy to remember link, and as long as you have javascript enabled you can use it. That means it should work on any smart phone as well (tested on Blackberry and Android).

I believe we're going to see about putting a link to it on the CFC Ratings page as well.

Please report any bugs you happen to find either in this thread or via PM to me.

    Enjoy!

I try this calculator and I notice a huge difference in results when I input the same data in FIDE calculator (where you enter one game at the time) and USCF (where you enter the entire tournament).

    FIDE (K15) +20
    USCF +27
CFC +43 (no bonus) +113 (regular bonus)

    Is that right?

I assume you are using a rating under 2200, in which case the k-value for the CFC rating is 32, which explains why the normal rating gain is so much higher than it is for USCF or FIDE.

The bonus points seem a little high as well, can you give me the +-= string that you are using as well as the initial rating?

    Thanks.

Actually, I found that the last bug fix I did introduced a new bug. Fixed now as well as the .5's showing should also be fixed. So the bonus points are no longer too high.

    +1300 +2240 -2286 =2234 +2183 -2253
    And the initial rating 2035.

With the fixed routine I get this:

2078 Your new rating (no bonus) +43

2096 Your new rating (regular bonus) +61

2116 Your new rating (lifetime high bonus) +81

This is from one of July tournaments:
Your current rating 2172 (lifetime highest at that moment)
    +2412 -2549 -2493 +2282 -2707 +2220 +2291
    Your score 4
Your new rating (no bonus) 2250
Your new rating (regular bonus) 2327
Your new rating (lifetime high bonus) 2347

The tournament been rated and instead of 2347 the new (lifetime highest rated) is just 2273.

The calculator probably just didn't take into account the fact that all increases above 2200 are halved.

Partly taken into account but apparently not fully!

I'm still getting a slightly different result though, will keep looking into it. Only off by 3 points though, probably rounding.
