I think that may be a bad idea, especially if the committee were to decide on an RFP going out. It would just leave the door open to accusations of preferential treatment in our handling of the process.

What do RFP and FEN stand for?

RFP=Request for Proposal. FEN is a company with whom the CFC has an agreement to provide chess equipment.

Does CFC ever use "its" equipment store to donate chess equipment to schools, community centres, northern communities, or for membership drives, or for prizes for scholastic events? Or one day, when the budget is not "all administrative," might it be able to move in such charitable directions? From this point of view, being able to provide equipment in its own name (as I understand it does under the contract with FEN) seems beneficial.
