For whatever reason, you were not able to achieve any co-operation from Barry, so you were not able to get access to the TD account he created, and this created the problem of continuing service charges, which you could take responsibility for as you were president of the OCA at that time in 2008. You are right, the account was $2.80 in overdraft March 31, 2008, and I remember attending the OCA meeting later in May 2008, by which time the community fee of $10 (a reasonable monthly charge for any bank account) went through on April 30,2008 along with an overdraft charge of $.05. There were a number of other charges that went through for a period of time, until the bank closed the account, giving up on the $34.13 as of September 30, 2008.
I managed to establish cordial relations with Barry in 2010, and convinced him to meet me at the bank, so I could get a copy of the corporation papers and a print out of the bank statements going back to 2004, so we could get our taxes done. When I was there, I made the decision to pay the overdraft account as a goodwill gesture, believing that OCA's reputation then, and now and going forwards, was more important than stiffing the bank out of some monthly service charges, since Barry declined to pay and felt he was doing me a favour by just being there. The $3.05 was to photocopy the records, adding up to $37.18. I had to drive up to Brampton (putting gas in the car) and the whole trip took over two hours, although I never asked for any gas money.
